Age: 8 years

Gender: Both! (Hermaphrodite)

Length: Shell 15cm

Favourite food: Fruit and leaves

Extreme feature: being male and female at the same time, all of the snails can lay eggs - each egg is the same size as a Cadbury's chocolate mini egg!

There are lots of different species of giant African land snails - probably 60 or so. These come from West Africa and like a warm, humid place to live.
