For Schools

I visit your school, bringing with me a range of live, friendly animals.I can run 2 or 3 sessions in a morning, 4 or 5 in a whole day.Sessions last 45-60 minutes.Groups should be no larger than 35, but are best with children in their normal teaching groups. The room is best arranged with two tables at the front against the wall and chairs in a single row in a semi-circle.

Animal Handling Sessions:
In a typical 60 minute session pupils will have the chance to hold giant cockroaches and snails, stroke a lizard and a python, and see a tarantula and scorpion at close-quarters.They will hear about the animals' biology and lives in the wild - in a safe, fun and memorable format.
Sessions can be arranged to emphasise certain topics, appropriate to Curriculum for Excellence topics (eg. minibeasts, rainforests, conservation).

Art Sessions:
In these new sessions, pupils have the chance to draw a selection of the most suitable animals, displayed on their table in transparent containers. This offers a prolonged view of the animal, allowing better study of form and movement, and the artwork forms a neat aide-memoire!

Payment:
The usual arrangement is for me to invoice the school after my visit, with payment by cheque within 30 days of invoice. BACS payment is available if your council has registered me as a supplier.

Disclosure and Insurance:
I have passed through the enhanced Disclosure Scotland process, and carry £2million public liability insurance, but I do not bring paperwork with me.
