Extreme feature: used as the inspiration for one of the characters in the Harry Potter films, whip spiders are arachnids- cousins of the spiders.

Sadly, this whip spider damaged one of its amazing whip antennae during its last moult. The whips (which are modified legs) are very fragile, and one broke as it the animal was pulling it from inside its old exoskeleton.
